Your Tandem Paragliding flight over Cape Town is an experience you'll never forget! The professional pilots of Icarus Paragliding take care of everything and assure a safe flight. Of 1 hour activity time, you'll spend around 5-15 minutes in the air. It all depends on the wind and weather conditions. The take-off point is Lion's Head or Signal Hill, depending on the wind conditions on the day of your flight. In both cases, you will enjoy amazing views over the city of Cape Town, its beaches, iconic Table Mountain, and the deep blue ocean.

Course of events
- Meet the Icarus Paragliding's crew and pilots at the Meeting Point on Signal Hill. There is a car park where you can leave your car.
- Your paragliding pilot will brief you on take-off and landing procedures before your flight. You will be provided you will all the necessary equipment including helmets, harnesses with back protection, reserve parachutes, and the crew will execute careful pre-flight checks and pre-launch observation.
- The pilots are professionals with a lot of experience. You can fully trust them, if the conditions are not safe, they will not fly.
- Take off requires only a few steps, once airborne you will be instructed to sit comfortably in your harness and simply enjoy the sensations and the view!
- Landings are on a specific area of grass or beach sand and require that you stand up in the harness and take a few steps as you touch the ground. A piece of cake!
- From the landing spot there is the possibility to be brought back up to the meeting point with a transfer (excluded in the flight price, R200 per vehicule).
Activity requirements
- Participants must be in good health. No need to be particularly sporty.
- Participants must not exceed 120kg (265lb).
- Minimum age: 12 years / 20kg (44lb)
- The exact meeting point (Signal Hill or Lion's Hill) will be confirmed with your instructor after booking.
- No previous paragliding experience necessary.
- Make sure to wear closed shoes (hiking boots or sneakers) and clothes adapted to weather conditions on the day of your flight (warm cloths, wind breaker jacket etc.).
Special terms
- Minors must have parental authorization.
- Transportation can be arranged with the instructor for an extra R200.
- Paragliding is subject to weather conditions. Please note that depending on the wind direction and strength, your flight might take off from Signal Hill.
- You can bring your own camera. You can also buy the pictures and videos taken of your flight by your pilot for R300.
