As the only Permit holder for Boat Based Close Encounter Whale watching in Knysna, Ocean Odyssey offers whale watching between 1st June and 30 November Annually. The Indian Ocean comes alive with our visiting migratory Southern Right and Humpback Whales during their annual migration along the garden route coastline. From 1st December to 31st May we conduct our popular Eco Marine Safari & Dolphin watching tours in which we show case the abundance of marine & bird life our beautiful coastline has to offer. Based on the Blue Flag accredited, Thesen Harbour Town, Knysna, found along the popular Garden Route. Our tours take you beyond the Knysna Headlands into the Indian Ocean where we operate between Gericke Point and the Robberg Peninsula. We depart daily at 09h30, 12h00 or 15h00, weather and sea conditions permitting. Our vessels depart from Thesen Harbour marina offering a jetty access to vessels, the tours include a guided tour of our expansive Knysna Estuary departing through the breath taking Knysna heads passage to sea, where we go in search of wildlife, while explore the caves and coves along the coastline.
