Aktivitätsbeschreibung

The proximity of the Lienz region to the Dolomites allows you to have an ice climbing day trip on the other side of the border!

In the Dolomite mountains in Italy, very close to the frontier with Austria, you'll find amazing large frozen walls where you'll be able to put your ice climbing skills to the test. Most of these walls lead up to beautiful plateaus with enchanting views that will make the effort worth it.

This is a huge region for ice climbing, yet Isidor focuses on Southern Tyrol, specifically in the Ahrntal area. There, you'll experience some of the best ice climbing spots in the region. Isidor will choose the best depending on the weather conditions and your skill!

Ice climbing is quite similar to rock climbing; you'll use a harness, a cord, and helmet as safety equipment. Also, since as you've learned before, you'll use an ice ax, or piolet, and weatherproof boots with crampons to make your way up.

Beschreibung des Angebot

Due to the proximity to the main ridge of the Alps (Reintal) and at the same time to the Dolomites, this region offers a lot of flexibility in terms of the weather or climbing conditions. Thus, the team can react to weather changes relatively quickly and choose the appropriate ice climbing spot.
