Châtel, portes du soleil: die besten Abenteuer-Aktivitäten

Chatel, in the Northern Alps, is a traditional Haute-Savoie station located in the heart of Portes du Soleil domain on the French-Swiss border.

This charming village resort appears to be the setting for a fairytale, with white covered mountains, typical architecture and friendly atmosphere. But don’t let appearances fool you though, as beautiful as this place is it also a paradise for extreme sports lovers.

When the snow falls, skiers have 130km of slopes of different levels of difficulty to try out. Speedriders and backcountry skiers can try out the challenging off-piste drops and glide down the fresh snow enjoying the views of the white tainted trees.

However, during the summer it turns itself into a hard-core Bike Park Centre, with thousands of riders travelling for the annual competitions.  The spot hosts the annual Pass’Portes du Soleil, a 3 day event where the MTB circuit is 80km long with 7000m of downhill & 1000m uphill tracks.

Dedicated entirely to mountain biking enthusiasts, Chatel also has endless cross-country and enduro tracks. Moreover, they are pioneers in promoting electrical mountain biking, with trails specialized for this new discipline!
