Lake como: die besten Abenteuer-Aktivitäten
You have probably already heard about Lake Como before, but did you know there’s a lot for you to discover here?
Lake Como is a lake of glacial origin in Lombardy, Italy, only an hour from Milan. It is the third largest lake in Italy, after Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore and is one of the deepest lakes in Europe.
Lake Como is popular for its numerous outdoor activities, incredible landscapes, relaxing spas and artistic gems. The lake is shaped like the letter “Y”. The northern area of the lake is situated in the town of Colico, while the southern part sits in Como and Lecco. Ferry boats connect the picturesque small towns on the lake.
The lake and the imperious mountains around it offer an infinite choice of extreme sports, from skiing in the winter to kayaking during summer!
The lake presents the best conditions to practice kitesurfing, windsurfing and sailing. In fact, the Breva is the light thermal wind that blows constantly in spring and summer. The best wind sports spots are Dervio, Colico, Mandello, Gera Lario, and Valmadrera.
They are all located in the northern part of the lake, where wind blows stronger and gentle shores facilitate the access to the water.
It’s also a great spot for climbers, as it offers a huge diversity of rock climbing, via ferrata and bouldering sites as Val di Mello.
Discover the marvellous scenery through the infinite trails, routes and mountain passes by bike or in the old fashion way: hiking, but if you want to enjoy an aerial view of the lake, experience the freedom of paragliding.
Lake Como will leave you speechless!
