Activity description

If you are serious about learning how to ice climb. or if you already have a taste of this amazing sport and you can't stop thinking about, Lukas will teach you how!

The Austrian region of Osttirol is one of the most well-known ice climbing places in the world because of its many mountains and its cold winters! Lukas loves this area, and will share his knowledge as you go through this beginners ice climbing course!

Ice climbing descends from rock climbing, so they follow the same principle, reaching the highest part of a wall! You'll use a harness, a cord, and helmet as safety equipment. Also, since you can't grab a frozen wall, you'll need an ice ax or piolet, and weatherproof boots with crampons to make your way up.

The main objective of this 2-day ice climbing course is to give you all necessary skills so you can safely handle the equipment and ultimately be able to create a top-rope belay by drilling into the ice and securing a bolt.

It may sound intimidating, but Lukas is an expert and will teach you everything you need to know! Also, he'll take good care of you, you can just focus and learn!
