Location
Mayrhofen is located in the heart of Tyrol and world-famous for its unique winter sports opportunities. But also during the summer, the Zillertal offers a wide range of exciting outdoor activities. For example paragliding. Discover the Tyrolean Alps from a completely new perspective on this exciting tandem paragliding flight. It takes only a few steps and you are up in the air.
But first, you will meet your tandem partner at the cable car station in Penken or at the Ahornbahn in Mayrhofen, depending on the weather conditions and booked flight version.
The cable car takes you to the starting point which is located 2000 meters above sea level. On the way to the top, your guide will explain everything you need to know about paragliding and prepares you for the upcoming flight.
Once you reached the top, you will enjoy the breathtaking views. In the south, you will see the snow-covered glaciers of the alps. On a sunny day, you can spot Pinzgau in the east.
Now it's time to gear up for the activity. Your helmet and harness will be individually adjusted and your guide will double-check everything one more time. The paraglider wing has an area of 42 square meters but it takes only a few seconds to fill it up. After walking for about 10-20 meters, you are up in the air.
Lean back and enjoy the flight! You are sitting in front of the pilot so you are having the best views. The paraglider's speed is roughly 40km/h and you can communicate with the pilot throughout the entire flight in case you have any questions or specific requests.
Landing is quite simple. You will mildly run for a few steps until you are back to the ground. Older or overweight passengers can even land while sitting if the wind conditions are good.
Weather is quite an important factor for paragliding. Therefore, it can happen that a booked activity needs to be re-scheduled. Please keep yourself available before the flight and consider the fact that the date and time of your flight might change. Your guide will coordinate everything with you ahead of the activity.
