This activity operates on the Siap River in the Payangan area of Bali – close to Ubud and around 1h 30minutes from popular tourist destinations like Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur. Flowing through the heart of the jungle to reach the Ayung River, the canyon system neighbours local landmarks like the Tegallalang Rice Terrace, Tirta Empul Water Temple and Goa Gajah or Elephant Cave.
Meet your instructor at the activity base for this inflatable tubing experience on the Siap River. A two-hour adventure through the Balinese jungle, start your excursion with a quick safety briefing and kit check before you are transferred by 4x4 to the start of the canyon system. Suitable for children and big kids alike, cruise down the river on your own raft – experiencing the jungle from the water’s edge and enjoying the local flora and fauna (keep an eye out for Balinese long-tailed Monkeys). Packed with natural slip n’ slides, rapids and whitewater, be prepared to get wet as you bounce and bump along the river bank - attempting a 100m zip line through the canyon if you’re feeling extra adventurous! Once you reach the end of the tubing trail, hop back on the shuttle service to the activity base where you can get changed before returning to your accommodation.
There are opt-out areas along the course with wooden footpaths and suspension bridges allowing you to avoid any or all obstacles. The zip line is also optional but highly recommended. The Siap River is considered a grade I-II river, as defined below:
Class I: Fast moving water with riffles and small waves.
Class II: Straightforward rapids with wide, clear channels and medium-sized waves
