Bjelasnica mountain sits in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, 36km southwest of the country’s capital, Sarajevo which has the nearest International Airport. Lukomir village sits half-way up Bjelasnica and is known as one of the most remote in the country. The mountain is popular during winter as a ski destination, meaning there’s plenty of tracks and runs perfect for mountain biking.
Meet your team of guides in Konjic before being driven to your starting point. The team will provide all the equipment you need for the activity. The mountain bikes are easy to ride with a range of gears that will help you tackle any inclines with ease. You’ll then set off through the beautiful untouched countryside, cruising along gravel paths and dirt roads on your way up to Lukomir. This ancient village is the oldest in the country and is made up of old wood and straw huts. It’s a great place to take some photos and take a bite to eat provided for you by your guides. You’ll then move further down the road, catching a glimpse of the Stacci tombstones. These ancient orthodox and Catholic shrines are unique to only three countries in Europe. Once at the finishing point the team will drive you back to Konjic for showers and refreshments.
