Nature lovers, come and discover the stunning beauty of Cabulja Mountain in this trek that offers spectacular views of the surrounding canyons, rugged mountains, and open plains!
Located about 20 kilometers northwest from Mostar, Cabulja Mountain is situated near the Neretva River and is the epitome of wild nature at its best. Often overlooked because of its smaller height in comparison to other mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina, this modest mountain hides an incredible gem of breathtaking views and natural beauty as you make your way to the top.
With your certified mountain guide, you’ll start off at Bogodol (840 meters) and embark on a 5.5-kilometer light climb that will take you to Lake Gondusa (1430 meters). From there, you’ll start a more challenging, steeper climb as you go through beech forest and then a rocky lowland area. When you get to the top, you’ll have staggering views of the picturesque Drežanka river canyon (depth of 1,500 meters). If you wish, you can shorten your hike by 2 hours at this point by taking the asphalt road from Bogodol.
From Kilava Beech, the final ascent to the top of Velika Vlajna (the highest peak of the mountain at 1776 meters) will leave you mesmerized as you’ll have panoramic views of the majestic mountains around you!
