Sport Club Tenerife uses two of the most spectacular beaches on the island: El Medano and La Tejita:
El Médano is a seaside resort located on the south coast of Tenerife. This spot is famous for its golden sand beaches that stretch out for miles and spectacular waves that attract water sports lovers from around the globe.
This spot is particularly popular with kitesurfers, especially as the Kitesurfing World Championship takes place here every year. You’ll often see kiters execute the most impressive and extravagant tricks whilst attached to their board – if that isn’t impressive then I don’t know what is!
The beach is harmoniously shared by surfers, kiters and holidaymakers without any problems. Each group has ‘their’ section, meaning that children can play safely without parents worrying that they’ll bump into an extreme sports fan in the middle of their practice.
Along the beach you’ll find a variety of restaurants, bars and cafes. You’ll also find several kiosks where you can rent sports equipment and wetsuits, save you travelling with cumbersome gear.
Access to the beach is extremely easy if you have a car, as there is a very big car park, if not you can always flag down a taxi to make your way there. There are taxis available throughout the day for you to take on your way back.
La Tejita is located on the south coast of Tenerife, near the Nature Reserve of Montaña Roja. This peaceful and secluded beach is over 1 km long is extremely popular with adrenaline junkies, due to its wind and water conditions.
La Tejita is a wild beach that has golden sands and a moderate tide. The constant winds have made this spot a kitesurfing haven that attracts kiters from all over.
This spot has the added bonus of magnificent views of Montaña Roja, a pink coloured volcanic crater.
Near the beach you’ll find a big car park and an area reserved for camping that is equipped with showers, a canteen and wooden huts that can be rented by holidaymakers.
