Via Ferrata in the south of Crete is the most thrilling adventure you can get on the island. By walking and climbing the "Via Ferrata" you will be using ladders and ropes to climb up the mountains of Crete.
It's a fun and exciting activity you should try if you are visiting Crete. Only an hour and a half south from Heraklion, you will meet with your experienced guide in the village of Vagionia, and get ready to climb over the Asterousia mountains.
You will be climbing in safety accompanied by your guide, who will teach you everything you need to know before going up the mountain. All you need to do is wear some comfortable clothes, and of course sports shoes. If you have climbing shoes with you that's even better.
You will be trekking for a while and thereafter climbing up the mountains of Asterousia. The goal is to reach the peak of Kofinas and enjoy the panoramic views over the south of Crete. You will be able to enjoy the views of the monastery of Koudouma, and the astonishing beaches of southern Crete.
No previous experience needed to join a small group for a Via Ferrata excursion - only some enthusiasm and passion for outdoor activities!
