Learn how to find your edge and windsurf on one of the best beaches in Croatia on this windsurfing course on the Dalmatian coast. The perfect place to master the basics or pick up the pace, the Omis Riviera is renowned for its flat, shallow sea and the powerful Mistral wind that originates from the Mediterranean coast, which allows for flat water and stable learning conditions during the summer months.
This windsurfing experience takes place on Omis Beach, only 20 km (12 miles) away from Split. Organised according to age and ability, choose from either a 3-hour, 5-hour or 10-hour package that is geared toward beginners with no previous experience. In addition, groups are small and intimate - ranging from 3-6 people. The lesson plan can be split up over the course of several days with each course starting on a Sunday, catered specifically to your level.
The activity is situated near the Galeb Campsite, which is a protected beach with sea defences and a shallow, sandy bottom bay. The adventure begins when you meet your certified instructor at the activity base on Omis Beach. They will combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning and you'll begin on the sand with an introduction to the sail, board, and mast, as well as an ocean safety briefing. You'll also practise your startup sequence and learn how to pull up the sail, balance on the board, and tack into the wind, moving onto turns and water starts.
