Reef Oasis Viva Dominicus Dive Club is located inside the beautiful resorts of Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach and Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace in Bayahibe - a nature reserve with over 20 official dive sites located along the Bayahíbe coastline. Situated in the heart of the Del Este National Park, the Bayahibe region is renowned for its remote beaches and reefs with diverse marine life.
A four-day PADI Open Water course in Bayahibe, start with a basic theory course in the classroom and then move to the pool for 5 controlled dives where you will learn how to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank. After adequate practice, put your skills to the test in a range of reef and wreck locations situated just a short boat ride from the shore. Completing 4 open water dives with supervision from your instructor, explore the tropical coral gardens and reefs, moving on to deeper ocean walls where you'll discover wreck diving - and meet some of the exciting pelagic residents that inhabit the lower trophic zones from 10-18m.
Dive Site Options
Catalina Garden: Depth: 10 m
A shallow Caribbean reef with very good visibility and a 1m to 3m drop. Here you will see coral and marine sponges, as well as typical Caribbean marine life.
Coral Garden: Depth: 10-12 m
Dive site with an artificial reef. Sandy bottom with natural reef and artificial structure with corals.
Dominicus Reef: Depth: 14-18 m
An awesome dive site with beautiful corals and marine life to look at. It is part of the same reef that goes from Viva Shallow and continues along the coast all the way to El Peñon and Piscina Natural.
Tortuga: Depth: 16 m
A shallow garden surrounds this beautiful Caribbean reef containing a great variety of corals and sea sponges in a variety of vibrant colours, populated by typical Caribbean marine life.
Please note you are not allowed to fly for up to 24 hours after your last dive.
