Activity description

Embark on a fascinating Seal Safari in Lake Saimaa and spot the amazing seals in their natural environment on this unique electric eco-tour from Puumala! Welcoming adventurers of all ages!

Lake Saimaa is the largest lake in Finland and the fourth largest natural freshwater lake in Europe, nestled between Puumala and Savonlinna. Surrounded by nature and tranquility, you will enjoy the beauty of Finland's largest Lakeland and spot the rare Saimaa Ringed Sail in their natural inhabitant!

Renowned for their distinct markings and curious nature, these cold and adorable water nomads are seen on the banks of the lake, usually sunbathing, quite often during the summer months. Once you meet your Captain, you will board on the weather-proof Ecoboat and set off for your adventure. The seats are covered in leather, and the boat is completely covered to ensure a comfortable and smooth ride. In addition, the big windows will be opened during the tour, allowing you to take some amazing photos, while adjusting the temperature of the cabin at the same time.

Your expert nature guide will share some engaging stories, interesting facts, and his deep passion for the enchanting Lake Saimaa along the way, ensuring you get to explore parts of the area that only few tourists ever get to see! As the engines are silent, you will be able to experience and observe the rare seals from up close, allowing you to have a more intimate encounter with those magnificent species.

Marvel at the unique surrounding beauty of the Puumala archipelago and Laike Saimaa as your Captain takes you to the best spots to observe the rare seals. Sit back, relax and take in the overall beauty of the Finnish nature. You will also get to taste some delicious locally baked sweet buns, complemented with a hot ''Kuksa'', a mug of coffee or tea.

Book your Eco Seal Safari in Lake Saimaa from Puumala for an unforgettable adventure in the heart of the picturesque Finnish Lake and watch these unique mammals in their natural environment - enjoying the stunning scenery from the comfort of a covered-cabin eco boat!
