The tour begins at the starting point in Rovaniemi (pickup is available from specified locations upon booking). The experienced guide will collect you in a warm and comfortable minivan. The group is small, with a maximum of 8 participants, to maximise a really personalised experience. The knowledgeable guide spends the day extensively monitoring the current weather conditions and the Northern Lights forecasts. Based on the analysis of the meteorological situation, they will drive to the spot with the best chance of witnessing the natural phenomenon.

This excursion will offer you the unique opportunity to drive long distances through the Lappish wilderness, explore the Arctic nature and take on different routes that will lead you to fantastic scenery, including snowy forests, powerful rapids, quaint frozen beaches and vast ice-covered lakes. You will visit up to 3 different locations around Rovaniemi. 

Once you reach an optimal viewpoint, you will stop to build a campfire. The guide will teach you how to build a bonfire using traditional methods. As you pause to take in the magnificent Aurora Borealis in the night sky; hot drinks and a typical Finnish campfire snack will be served to keep you warm. The guide will have a professional camera to capture pictures of you and your loved ones (these will be sent to you the following day). They will also show you some tips and tricks to take your own photos, while keeping the amazing lights in the image. After you have taken in the natural wonder, you will return to the starting point in Rovaniemi.
