Activity description
Come and discover the splendid Mont Semnoz by doing a classic mountain bike ride: the descent to Annecy offering 1,300 m of negative altitude difference!
The Semnoz descent is a great classic of downhill mountain biking in Haute-Savoie. This long descent through the undergrowth has everything to please mountain bikers of all levels, from beginners to experts! That's why the Maison du Vélo offers half-day mountain bike excursions to discover this incredible route in the north of the Massif des Bauges, a stone's throw from Annecy.
The instructor who will accompany you on this trip will advise you on the techniques and safety protocols of downhill mountain biking, and will share with you all his knowledge of the region and the Semnoz. From the start, you will be treated to an exceptional panorama of the lake of Annecy and the Aravis mountain range on the other side, as well as the famous Mont Blanc a little further on.
The descent, which will take place in the middle of the Semnoz forest, will then offer you its 1,300 m of negative altitude difference so that you can get the most out of your mountain bike! Between technical passages and more rolling sections, you will face a very varied terrain, but always very pleasant to ride with from time to time superb views of Annecy and its lake.
Approximately 3 hours of descent + some preparation time and the bus ride up: allow a total of 4h30 of activity.
Starting point of the descent : Crêt de Chatillon (the summit of the Semnoz)
Arrival point: the banks of Lake Annecy
