BeFreeToDive offers you an SSI freediving course in Antibes, near Nice and Cannes!
Our partner offers you an introductory or advanced freediving course in Antibes that will satisfy all underwater sports lovers! This two-day course includes an online theory course and 3 practical sessions that will allow you to learn different aspects of freediving (vertical, static, free immersion, etc.).
During the course, you will learn about the physiology of the human body and the physical phenomena related to immersion, as well as breathing techniques, relaxation with yoga pranayama, and recovery techniques. All of this is very important in order to carry out your freedives in complete safety. You will also discover the notions of swimming, immersion, verticality and you will become familiar with the specific equipment for freediving. You will see a rapid progression in your technique and you will be surprised by your new abilities!
It is on the French Riviera, between Nice and Antibes that your freediving course will take place. Easily accessible from Fréjus, Cannes and Nice, Villeneuve-Loubet is a town bordered by the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean near the Cap d'Antibes. After having been the scene of the discovery of scuba diving, the Mediterranean basin has more recently become the scene of the rediscovery and development of freediving. During the course, you will have the chance to dive in magnificent spots of this region, near Antibes.
Moreover, you will be supervised by a professional guide who knows the discipline perfectly and will be able to advise you, adapt to your needs and accompany you in your progression! Beyond the performance, you will live an intense and sensational moment while practicing freediving on the French Riviera!

Day 1
The team welcomes you at the center at 8.30 am. Once the introductions are made, you will be given a briefing on freediving in general. You will start the activity with a ventilation and relaxation session before heading to the pool.
- Discovery of the notions of buddy system and safety
- Lunch break
- 1.30 pm : initiation to the disciplines of vertical freediving in the sea
- Return to the pool around 5 pm and debriefing
Day 2 : a day at sea.
- Morning session with freediving on a cable
- Noon : picnic break
- Afternoon: exploration snorkeling on the natural site of the Pelagos sanctuary
The SSI certification will allow you to freedive with a partner in the open water to a depth of 20 metres.
You will have a solid theoretical and technical foundation for freediving.
Activity requirements
A written parental authorisation is required for minors under 16 to take part in this activity.
All participants must bring a medical certificate from their doctor dated within the last 3 months stating that they are allowed to practice this activity.
