Enjoy a 24 or 32 km canoeing trip to discover the Ardèche Gorges with La Vernede!

You will sail from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc to the heart of the Ardèche Gorges, a magnificent wilderness reserve with many surprises! You will enter the deep gorges of the Ardèche where some cliffs reach a height of almost 300 metres in some places. You can choose between a 24 km canoeing trip (5 hours paddling time) and a 32 km trip (6.5 hours paddling time), with the addition of the Pont d'Arc area.

Whether you are with friends or family, to make the most of the day, it is best to start the canoeing trip as early as possible. Swimming breaks, picnics and games will punctuate this day in the Ardèche. The guide will also take advantage of the stops to help you discover the unique nature of the Ardèche Gorges.

For your comfort, at the end of the day, the La Vernede team will take you back to your accommodation by air-conditioned bus.

A 24 km descent through the Gorges de l'Ardèche, without passing under the Pont d'Arc.

Departure is every half hour, from 8.30 am to 10.30 am maximum. The descent lasts 5 hours without breaks.

Course of events

- Meet at the indicated place. The shuttles will bring you to the starting point n°5 in Châmes where the guides will give you your equipment and the necessary material.
- Beginning of the descent : during the day, enjoy frequent swimming breaks, a picnic break and discover more about the natural reserve of the Ardèche.
- After your 5 hours of canoeing, without the breaks, your return by bus is expected at the landing stage of Sauze at 4 pm. The return trip lasts 45 minutes, the occasion to discover your descent of the day seen from above.

Course of events

- Departure at 8 am at the earliest from the meeting point, so as to be the first on the river. The shuttles take you to the starting point of the descent where the guides give you your equipment and the necessary material.
- Start of the descent: nature awakens, passing under the Pont d'Arc, a 60-meter high natural arch, pauses along the beaches that line the Reserve interspersed with a few rapids.
- Without losing your rhythm, the arrival in Sauze can be tiring if the water level is low. From 4 pm, the shuttles ensure your return.
