A vital lifeline for one of France's most remote regions, Napoleon Bridge has been connecting communities on the two sides of the Pyrenees national park since 1859. A safe passage over the raging Gavarnie gorge - a heavy stone laiden river that runs from its source in Northern Spain, bungee junkies flock to this bridge during summer for a freefall experience away from the crowds.
The location
Situated 700m up in the mountainous woodland, travellers now flock to the mighty facades of this impressive bridge to experience the true power of G-force - in a stunning hidden location in the heart of the French Pyrenees.
The jump site
A vertical drop into the gorge below, its wide mouth and protected walls create an echo that reverberates down the mountain, adding to its appeal as an impressive natural location and secluded bungee jumping mecca.
Essential info
Jumps are organised in 30-minute slots but please try to allocate half a day to include travel, paperwork, demo, jump and the walk back up to the bridge after release. Spectators are welcome to wait on the viewing platform.
