Supervised by a state-qualified instructor, take advantage of a half-day trip with family or friends to go caving in the underground cave of Poujol, in the Jonte Gorges, a mystical universe full of history that will not leave you indifferent!
Located in the heart of the Gorges du Tarn, the Poujol cave is characterised by its various obstacles and consists of 3 rooms separated by collapses. It owes its name to Henri Poujol, a natural history and botany enthusiast who discovered a human skull covered in calcite on his first visit.
During this caving excursion in the Gorges du Tarn, near Millau, you will approach the discipline from all angles, starting with games of progression and movement to "relearn to walk" in the dark. Then comes the more instructive aspect during which you will discover more about the history of the Poujol cave, the Grands Causses and the geology behind its formation. Inside the cave, you will be able to observe the landscapes sculpted by time, the concretion ceilings, the flows, or even traces of past lives.
