Work up an appetite and head off the beaten track to discover Beaufortain's uncharted snowdrifts with this snowshoeing and chalet lunch excursion near Les Arcs ski resort.
Far removed from the hustle and bustle of Les Arcs sits a lonely alpine chalet in the heart of Beaufortain. A local secret and Savoyard treasure, trek across a winter landscape and dine on traditional regional delicacies on this snowshoeing guided tour.
Connected to Les Arcs by the valley town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Beaufortain is a lesser-known landscape - popular with backcountry skiers and mountaineers due to its wild, un-pisted terrain, quaint Savoie villages and moreish regional produce.
A 55-minute transfer into the heart of the mountain range, the full day trip will traverse the Beaufortain massive on a 3-hour hike before lunching at Chalet d’Alpage and continuing on to Col de la Madeleine for a final 3 hours. A flat yet demanding route, navigate stunning winter routes with your expert mountain guide - learning about the region and its influence on French gastronomy and winter sporting heritage.
Organised depending on weather conditions and snowfall, expect deep snow drifts, undulating mountain paths and thick forests.
