Enjoy the experience of Marc, local guide of Rando Terre d'Azur, to discover the exceptional fauna of the Mercantour.

The Mercantour has a unique diversity of fauna and flora in France. It is a massif known to be the wildest of the metropolis, between the sea and the mountains... Enough to delight lovers of the great outdoors!

The snowshoe outing that you are going to do in the morning mist of the Mercantour National Park, in the south of France, lasts 2h30 and is accessible to all!

The morning departure will allow you to observe in the best conditions the emblematic animals of the mountain: chamois, ibexes, marmots, vultures...

This excursion is labeled "National Park Spirit", which means that it respects the environment and the protection of the exceptional territory that is the Mercantour.

For this group snowshoe outing, you will discover the mountain fauna during winter. You will learn to recognize the traces of animals (deer, chamois, ermine, fox...) and the adaptations they show to survive the winter!

Course of events

You'll need to plan a trip of about 15 minutes by vehicle from Allos Village (meeting place) to get to the hike's start. Carpooling is possible.

Activity requirements

Snowshoing equipment: it is possible to rent it from our partner store in Allos (Le Petit Allossard - Sport 2000) if you do not already have your own equipment (on presentation of your reservation form).

Having a bit of experience in snowshoeing is better to do this activity.

Special terms

The guide has the right to modify the program, depending on weather hazards, trail conditions, transportation hazards, group level, or any reasons related to the safety of participants.

Participants will be informed of the confirmation of the exit the day before.
