Subra Canyon, Ariège

The Subra canyon is undoubtedly the most exotic of all the canyons in the Vicdessos valley, and the descent is through the heart of a luxuriant jungle in the Regional Natural Park of the Ariege Pyrenees.

This superb canyon carved out of red schist offers splendid scenery with its numerous abseils.
It is in the heart of the Ariege jungle that you will move mainly on rope, here no jumps, but guided abseils and guided rappels.
The Subra canyon is an adventure not to be missed!

If you have climbing or abseiling experience, this is the perfect opportunity to come and play on the terrain of real canyoneurs by learning new techniques with experienced instructors.

On the programme:
- You will be welcomed over breakfast, where the activity and the topography of the canyon will be presented.
- Your instructor will explain the day's activity and the equipment you will be using before handing it over to you.
- By car, you will then drive to the starting point
- It is by an approach walk in the heart of the Ariegean forest that you will reach the beginning of the canyon
- After a picnic in front of the canyon entrance, your instructor will give you a full briefing on abseiling techniques and rope management.
- You will then tackle the abseils which are progressively linked in order to perfect your technique, you have all the time you need to practise gently
- Back at the centre you will enjoy a refreshing drink and a drink with your instructor.
- The canyon finishes with a great guided abseil of 25 meters and the famous spider's thread waterfall " la grotte ".
-You will then reach the car park before returning to the canyoning centre to debrief the day around d  'a cool drink and view the photos of your day.
-A digital technical manual and a topoguide will be offered to you at the end of the outing.
