Activity description

This heliskiing day trip is designed for skiers & snowboarders who want to experience the thrills of heliskiing at their own pace.

Jump straight into neck-deep powder then navigate your way down almost vertical slopes until you end up at the bottom of the mountain... That's what heliskiing is all about!

Heliskiing or heliboarding (snowboard) is the ultimate ski/snowboard experience and the best chance of finding fresh powder snow. It's a thrilling activity that starts with anticipation and quickly turns into excitement and exhilaration thanks to the stunning surrounding landscapes. You’ll access runs and untouched powder that only a helicopter can reach!

With Val Heliski, you'll get the chance to try out powder skis and learn how to use them under the instruction of an IFMGA mountain guide (International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations). You will also be trained on the safety equipment.

Since heliskiing is a prohibited activity in France, you start the day in Italy and ski back to France

Your day starts with a warm-up -on and off-piste- to the helicopter take-off zone on the French/Italian border. You then meet your instructor, carry out transceiver training and an avalanche rescue training simulation before embarking on your heli descent. The descents take place either in Courmayeur, Valgrisencheor theCol Du Petit St Bernard depending on the time of year, snow conditions and group preferences.
