Come learn to paraglide in Barrême and discover incredible sensations on your first flights over the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence!

Close to the Verdon Regional Nature Park and Digne-les-Bains, the lavender capital, the Barrême paragliding school welcomes you to its slope school for an introduction to paragliding on a one, 3 or 5-day course.

Installed in a harness, alone or in tandem, paragliding gives you the chance to fly over magnificent landscapes, thanks to a large fabric wing and two controls on each side of the pilot, to control speed and steer you through the air. This activity will let you fly over sublime landscapes and, above all, teach you how to handle the equipment so that you can paraglide on your own!

Working alongside passionate, professional instructors, you'll learn the basic techniques, both theoretical and practical, for a safe take-off, flight and landing. Accessible to all, this activity allows you to progress in a friendly atmosphere, at your own pace.

Course of events

- Morning: Initiation on slope-school (4h)

You will head to the school slope in the company of your instructor before receiving a briefing on safety instructions and techniques for learning how to paraglide. You will familiarize yourself with the equipment before learning the take-off and landing gestures as well as the pre-flight.

- Afternoon: Theoretical course (4h).

You will discover in this theoretical course the following themes: clouds, aerology and flight mechanics.

You must present a medical certificate of fitness for paragliding (issued by any general practitioner).

A written parental authorisation is required for minors to take part in this activity.

Day 1: Discovery of the equipment and handling, the first flights and theory.

Day 2 / Day 3: You will make intermediate flights trying to improve your takeoff, landing and during turns but also theoretical lessons on the use of radio, approaches and preparation for the big flight.

Day 4 / Day 5: The hour of major flights, guided by radio then gradually independently according to your progress, and theoretical courses on aerology-meteorology, regulations, and safety.
