Activity description

Certified diver Level 1 or more? Tahiti offers many dive sites adapted to your level and your desires for your future exploration dives!

For half a day, the Tahiti Iti Diving team invites you to discover the underwater fauna and flora around the Taiarapu peninsula (Tahiti Iti) during one or two exploration diving sessions. So if you have a Level 1 or higher, go for it!

Exploration dives take place in the Tahitian lagoon, but also mostly outside along the coral reef. You will find breathtaking drop offs and beautiful coral covered flats where an abundant fauna finds food and shelter. The dive sites around the Tahitian peninsula are numerous and will be chosen not only according to your level, but also according to the sea and weather conditions.

Among the exploration dive sites, you can find :

The Hole in the Lagoon - Level 1

A bowl in the lagoon, 2 to 30 meters deep, where you can see white tip sharks, scorpion fish, anemones, a wreck of a sailboat and leopard rays.

Papeari Drop-off - Level 1

A drop off covered with gorgonians and soft corals where you will see schools of saupe and paddle perch at 20 meters, but also mackerel, tuna, as well as a magnificent coral with many species present.

Tautira Pass - Level 1

An inbound drift dive of 20 meters maximum depth with a departure on the ocean side and an arrival in the Tahitian lagoon where you can observe turtles, napoleon fish, leopard rays, tuna and many other marine animals.

Caves of Tepota - Level 1

Caves between 3 and 15 meters deep where you can observe harpoon fish, mullet, lobsters, etc.

The Taravao Channel - Level 2

A dive in the pass with an ascent via a chimney (55 to 30 meters) dug in the coral during which you will be able to observe sharks, tunas, rays, etc.

And many other sites such as the leopard ray drift (in the lagoon) and the turtle drift (outside the lagoon), the Te Pari cave, the Faaone roses, the white canyon, the horseshoe, the Tepota chimney, etc.
