One foot off the floor... and you're hooked.
An amazing introduction to mastering the fourth element, learn the basics of independent paragliding with an expert instructor in the heart of the Allgäu Alps. Using a location perfect for its calm thermals, sloping hills, and wide pistes - getting your wings couldn't be any easier...
Home to 300 peaks, the Allgäu Alps in Bavaria are renowned within the paragliding community for the spectacular views and consistent thermals that make them one of a few all-year-round launch sites in Europe. Situated a 10-minute drive from the popular ski resorts of Oberstdorf and Bolsterlang, the flight school is located in Obermaiselstein - with most tandem and training flights taking place in the meadows served by the Flugberg Hörnerbahn - in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park.
After a brief, video-assisted theoretical introduction you will get to know the equipment and try practice exercises in a dedicated area. Learning safe starts, take-off, and landing, you will be equipped with a two-way radio system and your instructor will talk you through the basics - you'll be surprised how easy it is to get off the ground! In accordance with DHV training regulations, you'll have a chance to complete 5-10 short flights from 40m - 100m in altitude.
Due to the topographic location and the particularly favourable microclimate, the Allgäu Alps is renowned as one of the most consistent flight locations in the Northern Alps.
