Activity description

Come and enjoy diving excursions with l'Îlot Plongée Désirade! You will discover the wonderful seabed of La Désirade, located in Guadeloupe.

You have a Level 1 in diving and you wish to discover the sea beds of the island of Guadeloupe? Don't hesitate any longer and join the Désirade Diving Island! The island of La Désirade being little frequented, it is an ideal place to discover the Guadeloupean seabed in all serenity, far from the crowd of Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre. The diving center l'Îlot Plongée Désirade will be there to meet your expectations thanks to its numerous diving excursions supervised by a state-qualified and experienced instructor.

Once you arrive at the diving center in the port of La Désirade, you will meet your diving instructor Olivier. You will be equipped with the necessary equipment for your dive. The blocks are checked every year, the stabilizers are from Mares and the regulators are from Scubapro, quality equipment that is less than 2 years old to ensure the best diving experience in complete safety.

You will then leave in a 7 m semi-rigid boat, with a new 150hp Mercury engine, accompanied by 4 to 5 divers on board with you to have space and enjoy the sea trip. During the trip, Olivier will introduce you to the characteristics of La Désirade and its history! It is a superb geological reserve of Guadeloupe where you will be able to see many species of animals.

Your instructor will be happy to stop and admire dolphins or whales depending on the season. It takes about 20 minutes to reach one of the following dive sites:

- Kachakou Wreck - 17m

- Kaye a man Armide - 15 m

- The Drinking Water Supply Pipe - 20 m

- The Cathedrals - 20 m

- Pointe Monbin - 30 m

You will then set off to discover the corals, turtles, sharks, rays and barracudas that populate the seabed of these different diving spots. After 30 to 40 minutes underwater depending on your oxygen consumption, you will come back on board the boat to enjoy a snack and a debriefing with your instructor. You will then return to the dive center in the port of La Désirade, with a great diving experience in mind!

J'ai passé une autre très bonne plongée avec Olivier qui est vraiment très sympa et à l'écoute. Nous avons plongé sur le site "le Tuyau" qui nous a permis d'observer pas mal de choses, et notamment de vieilles ancres du 19ème siècles, 2 belles raies, et une très belle flore locale. Je recommande si vous venez à la Désirade, cela vaut le coup !
