Are of thinking of starting scuba diving or would like to become a certified scuba diver under the supervision of an expert instructor? Well then the SSI Open Water course is ideal for you!
All the open water scuba dives will take place in Port Louis, where you will see an abundance of nature’s underwater marvels.
Antidote’s special pedagogical method almost guarantees you’ll learn quickly, understanding everything easily. However, all the skills set out by the SSI must be acquired before you are officially given your Open Water certificate.
Depending on how you feel, your capacity and goals, you may do more than the minimum required technical scuba dives.
During the course you will execute 6 dives down to a depth of 18 metres. You will also complete a theory lesson to understand the basics of scuba diving helping you progress safely under your instructor’s guidance.
In 2018, Antidote had more than 50 students successfully complete their SSI course – a feat that was recognised and congratulated by the international organisation of SSI.
Once you have completed your first dive you will complete 5 scuba dives that will help you acquire the right security gestures, techniques of going into the water and how to explore the subaquatic world without disturbing it.
The first few sessions will take place in a protected area, where the water will be shallow. Once you are comfortable in the water you’ll set out to explore the famous arches and caves of Port Louis.
- Once you have been introduced to your instructor he will brief you on the activity and the security regulations
