Short Glacier Hike: a 2 hour glacier stroll, hit deep in the glacier and sea all of the natural features and wonders and still have half a day to see other sites of Iceland.

Half Day Glacier Hike: With an ice axe in hand explore the glacier ice hiking style over 4 hours deep in the Vatnajökull Glacier!

Full Day Glacier Hike: Learn glacier hiking techniques in the most adventurous glacier tour for those looking for a unique challenge in Iceland.

Throughout any of the tours Local Guide will be sure to point the fascinating features of the ice whilst teaching you some local geography and history.

Rest assured the no glacier hiking trip is the same as the glacier surface and colours change every single day, a lot depending on the time of year, but summer is the perfect time to get up on the ice and explore.

This tour will start with a short drive from our meeting point to Falljökull glacier, which is a neighbouring glacier outlet descending from the vast Vatnajökull ice cap.

After a quick walk to the edge of the glacier you will learn to put on crampons and have a small safety briefing. With an ice axe in hand we will then embark on a 1 – 1 1/2 km guided excursion of the glacier.

On this tour Local Gude will drive you to the base of an outlet glacier, coming from the vast Vatnajökull ice cap. You will then hike through glacier moraines and glacier landscape to the tip of the glacier where you will put on crampons. With an ice axe in hand you will go explore the glacier ice hiking style!
