Get to know Elding Whale Watching

Elding Adventures at Sea is a family owned company that has provided decades of responsible whale watching tours in Iceland. The family’s personal interest in wildlife, boats, and people turned into a real passion for whale watching and eventually a company! Elding gives locals and tourists the chance to experience Iceland’s marine life and wondrous habitat. No two tours are the same. Based out of Reykjavik, the team recently opened a second location in Akureyri, northern Iceland, that now boasts a 200 passenger catamaran and two seater RIB’s.

More importantly, Elding is proud to support marine biologists in their research on wildlife in the area. The team works hard on implementing and teaching how to maintain ecological balance and help conserve natural heritage and biodiversity. Elding CEA Rannveig  Grétarsdóttir is the Chair of the Icelandic Whale Watching Association (ICEWHALE) and the company proudly holds certificates from EarthCheck (advisory group for travel and tourism), Vakinn (quality and environmental system) and the Blue Flag (world renowned eco-label).
