Activity description

Discover the vibrant and diverse marine life living underneath the Ionian Sea during this snorkeling adventure that will take you back to ancient times. During this excursion, you’ll get to explore an underwater archaeological site of an ancient Greek city or sunken shipwrecks along the coast!

Snorkeling is an easy, relaxing, and fun introduction to the underwater world since you’ll get to observe the rich biodiversity of the seabed from the surface. This activity is suitable for nearly everyone, from families with children (ages 8 and up) to friends who are eager to experience a unique excursion in the sea together!

With a mask, snorkel, and fins, you’ll be 100% ready to immerse yourself in nature. Whether you choose a full-face mask with an integrated snorkel or a mask with a normal snorkel, you’ll be sure to experience the nautical magic that exists underneath the sea.

With your underwater guide that’s an expert in marine biology, you’ll get to learn more about the Ionian and Tyrrhenian coasts as well as its aquatic inhabitants as you navigate the sea in a rubber dinghy! Depending on the sea and weather conditions, your guide will choose the best snorkeling destination for you. You could explore:

- Kaulon: a completely submerged ancient Greek city with over 200 columns and architectural pieces (4-6 meters of depth).
- The sunken shipwrecks of the Kingstown and the Captain Antonio: staggering structures that nearly jut out of the water (8-12 meters of depth) and is home to the plethora of fish around them.

After this snorkeling session, you’ll make your way to the Tyrrhenian coast where you’ll get to experience the vivid colors of Scilla and its unique, pristine waters that’s rich in biodiversity from the marine animals to its seabed.

Note: According to the sea and weather conditions, it is possible that the activity will take place only on the Thyrrenian coastline of Calabria.
