Activity description

Bora Dive & Research offers you a scuba diving PADI courses in Nosy Boraha. You will train to get your diver certification in one of the most idyllic settings ever!

PADI offers you a range of courses that will allow you to get your diving certificate at the end of the training. You will also have access to flexible study options, including on-line courses that are adapted to your already busy schedule.

As a PADI diver, you have the most respected and recognized dive certification in the world. This allows you to dive absolutely anywhere. Wherever you go, your PADI degree will be recognized!

The location
The choice of the diving site is decided according to you level and is also depending on the weather condition. You will have the opportunity to dive among fish of various species such as: damselfish, trumpetfishes, clownfish, sea cucumber, butterflyfish, green turtles, crocodilefish, giant trevally, great barracuda, ostraciidae, heniochus... You will also be able to learn more about the history of the shipwrecks that haunt the sea depth of Madagascar. You will dive in different sea beds: sand, coral and rocks.

The Nosy Boraha lagoon is full of coral reefs. The sea-life is a preserved natural heritage and a first-class diving site in the Indian Ocean.
There are also so many pirate shipwrecks around the island. That is because the island is a former shipping route which has become today a sanctuary for pirate ships. During the 17th and 18th centuries pirates used to sail quite often in these waters as it was the route of the East India Company.

You can find among these shipwrecks 4 famous pirates vessels: the Adventure Galley, the Fiery dragon, the Great Mohamet and the Mocha. The Department for Culture is planning to resume the marine search that started in 2010. Nosy Boraha has valuable archaeological remains of the Indian Ocean sea piracy. Bora Dive participates actively in this big research project that will go on for the next 10 years!

The PADI scuba diver course is basically a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course right between that course and the discover scuba diving one. By picking this course you will get two benefits : it is the quickest way for you to become a diver and you will also get to go scuba diving with a dive guide. If your ultimate goal is to earn an Open Water Diver certification, this course will take you one step closer to it.

Your instructor will explain the techniques required for underwater breathing and the basics of buoyancy. You will also discover the material.
At the end of the course, you will be able to leave the beach for a gentle immersion in the protected waters of the lagoon. You and your instructor will observe the fauna and the aquatic flora that lives in the Indian Ocean.
You will still learn to use the shallow water diving equipment and get a quick and easy introduction to exploring the underwater world.
