Discover the stunning Buntang Islands on this island-hopping adventure in the Andaman sea.
Considered the only way to travel if you want to see the hidden gems that most tourists miss, jet skis are the best mode of transport to navigate the Buntang Islands. Discover Malaysia’s largest freshwater lake and get a chance to explore the atoll on foot as you leave the sea and hike around the 400 million-year-old karst limestone cliff faces – stopping to snorkel in the coral gardens, right off the boat or just out from the white-powder sandy beaches. A desert island adventure with a difference, be warned – it’s going to be hard to leave…
The activity centre is located on Pantai Cenang beach, Langkawi's busiest and most popular. A picturesque beach strip just a 10-minute drive from Langkawi International Airport, its nightlife scene is the liveliest on Langkawi Island, with plenty of beachfront bars and restaurants. Dayang Bunting Island is Langkawi’s second largest uninhabited island – a 15-minute ride from the beach. Once you’ve reached the island there is a paved hike travel to Dayang Bunting Lake through the dense forest an onto Gua Langsir cave.
Meet your instructor at the activity base on Pantai Cenang beach for this half-day jet ski excursion to Dayang Bunting Island. Ideal for active nomads and animal lovers alike, learn how to steer and manoeuvre your jet ski in the safety of the shallows before you head out to explore 8 islands in the Langkawi archipelago. A 4 hour scenic jet ski excursion that stops at Dayang Bunting for a one-hour tour of the lake and jungle, much of the time will be spent sightseeing and visiting the lesser-known small islands like ‘The Fjords’ a group of islands SE of Kuah and about 1 nautical mile from Dayang Bunting Island where the jaw-dropping scenery is worth the detour. Don’t forget to take your swimwear and snorkel as they will be plenty of opportunities to swim in shallow coral reefs, mangroves and even the freshwater lake on Dayang Bunting Island – you’ll also get a chance to spot unique wildlife such as hornbills, kingfishers, monitor lizards, and monkeys, too.
The waters around Langkawi and its many islets are well protected by the mainland, ensuring excellent and safe conditions all year round. The best time to visit Langkawi is the mid-season April until August.
