Snorkel under the moonlight along with other nocturnal sea creatures, turtles, and a dazzling bioluminescent show from sea particles.
Let the moon illuminate your path and snorkel in these warm shallow Caribbean waters covering a route of almost 3,000 ft. This Great Mayan Reef is filled with a living coral reef, playful turtles, and colorful fish. Before your arrival, the Total Snorkel team prepares the path with light buoys used as reference guides once the darkness settles in. Upon your arrival, the team will brief you on safety measures including how to wear the equipment, swim with fins, breath through the snorkel properly, and defog the mask. You will be provided with a submersible lamp that will enable you to watch the coral reef and sea life in detail.
The first stop in your adventure will be a well-conserved reef where you can admire coral formations and the nocturnal sea life like octopus, moray eels, squid, lobsters, and crabs. With a little help from the Caribbean’s current, you will swim towards a second area where you will find turtles and rays. Swimming with the turtles at night will be an experience you will truly never forget! The best is yet to come, your guides will ask you to turn your light off and shake your hands and feet. Millions of tiny particles will begin to light around you for a bioluminescent display sure to take your breath away. The Total Snorkel staff likes to call this lighting the Tinkerbell experience!
