Once you've had enough of relaxing on the golden sand beaches of Vallarta and you feel like you want to do something different, head on to Canopy River and join them on a discovery of the gorgeous Sierra Madre mountains just a few minutes from Puerto Vallarta
Heading up the mountains upstream the Cuale River in the Sierra Madre, Canopy River has built a center where you can find their quad bikes, buggies, and their amazing zip line circuit. From there, you'll start your hiking trip, the adventure will start at your accommodation where you'll be picked up and taken to Canopy River's HQs in the mountains.
Once in the mountains, Canopy River's team will welcome you and brief you. Then, you'll head on into the mountains on groomed dirt tracks. As you walk through the forest, you'll have a new perspective of the area.
The hiking trip will start with a circuit of 8 km. deep into the mountains of the Sierra Madre. This is a wonderful way to explore the extensive flora and fauna of the mountains. As you walk in the forest, you'll come across several species of parrots and macaws in their natural habitat that your expert guide will explain along the route. Then, you'll be able to take a break and cool off in the crystal-clear waters of the El Salto Waterfall.
The highlight of the trip is the Jorullo bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. You'll cross its 470 meters of length at 170 meters above the Cuale River. If you want a little dose of adrenaline during the hike, this will give to you!
