Activity description

This safari is all about giving you a snapshot of Etosha National Park, a true gem of Namibia. Choose to camp your way through the night or live a little more luxuriously with accommodated rooms. Either way, you will have all you need and more to enjoy an unforgettable Namibian adventure.

Day 1: Okaukuejo campsite, Etosha National Park (lunch and dinner included for both camping + accommodation) (accommodation option- Okaukuejo double rooms with air-conditioning)

A certified safari guide will pick you up at your accommodation in Windhoek between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. Together you will head north by car, crossing farmland and quaint towns until you arrive at Anderson Gate by mid-afternoon. Upon entering the Etosha Park, you will game drive 17 km to Etosha’s main rest camp and resort, Okaukuejo. The main attraction of this camp is its overlook of a waterhole floodlit at night. From dawn to early evenings, various wildlife come here to congregate and quench their thirst.

After your evening meal, you can take a stroll to the waterhole to hopefully witness more animals that regularly visit during the cool, dry season. Clients have spotted black rhinos, elephants, lions and numerous species of antelopes here.

Day 2: Namutoni Campsite, Etosha National Park (Dinner, bed, breakfast, and lunch included for both camping + accommodation) (accommodation option- Namutoni double rooms with air-conditioning

The day starts early to enjoy the cool morning air on the drive to the Halali camp situated in the middle of the park. You will visit several waterholes along the way with a spectacular view of the massive Etosha pan. The pan is a shallow depression that is dry for the greater part of the year but fed by moisture from perennial springs on the fringes. The game viewing in this area is excellent year round with other species normally not seen on the Okaukuejo side of the park.

A stop will be made at Halali camp to rest and eat a leisurely lunch. Time permitting, you can visit another waterhole and use the swimming pool on the premises before continuing on towards Namutoni. Built into an old German fort, the Namutoni campsite has a unique atmosphere. From the walls of the fort you can enjoy an elevated view of the King Nehale Waterhole where you can spot more animals.

Day 3: Departure (Breakfast and lunch included)

Time to head home! The drive will take you through towns and rural areas with a stop in Okahandja, home of Namibia’s largest wood carving market. The stalls operate on a local co-operative basis and make for a good Namibian souvenir. You can expect to be back in Windhoek late afternoon to early evening where you will be dropped off at your accommodation.
