Activity description

The Tasman Glacier Heli-hike combines completing an incredible glacier hiking adventure on Tasman Glacier with the thrill of a helicopter flight by the highest mountain in New Zealand, Mt Cook.

Once equipped with all your glacier hiking equipment, you'll board the helicopter for a flight over the lower part of Tasman glacier where the ice is in constant motion. You will fly to the higher part of the glacier where you'll access and explore a part of the glacier which is home to spectacular ice caves and arches.

Your landing site is remote and exceptionally beautiful part of the glacier. There you'll strap on your crampons, and follow your guide who will lead you to amazing formations, whilst clearing the path to make hiking easier.

Each trip offers something new, as the glacier is ever moving, no two trips are the same. This half-day adventure allows you to discover new undiscovered areas, one for the true adventurer.

Please note that this is a natural and ever-changing environment. Ice features change constantly and no guarantee can be given that specific features will be seen. This is a weather dependent trip.

We have small groups the maximum guide to customer ratio is 1:11.
