Activity description

Snowshoe on the upper snowfield of the Tasman Glacier after an incredible flight over the entire Tasman Glacier, the Southern Alps, and by Mt Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand.

Once equipped with all your glacier hiking equipment, you'll board the ski plane and fly to 2200 metres (7200 ft.), marvelling at the entire glacier, southern alps, the incredible mount cook and you may even see an iceberg in the glacier lake! Then get ready to explore this incredible glacier by walking, hiking and snowshoeing.

Your landing site is remote and exceptionally beautiful part of the glacier. Once on top of the glacier, we will provide you with snowshoes, adjustable walking poles, harnesses and any additional equipment you may need. After your gear is fitted, you are ready to explore the ice formations in this ever-changing environment; you’re in the heart and birthplace of New Zealand mountaineering.

Please note that this is a natural and ever-changing environment. Ice features change constantly and no guarantee can be given that specific features will be seen. This is a weather dependent trip.
