Activity description

Cruise up the Cape Brett coastline on this jet ski excursion in the Bay of Islands.

The finale at the furthest point of the Cape Brett coastline, explore the Bay of Islands on this guided jet ski tour. A towering 16m high archway, make your way up the historical Cook coastline, passing natural and cultural landmarks to Motukokako where you can thread the needle through the infamous ‘The Hole in the Rock’!

Location
This activity takes place from Paihia and travels to the Bay of Islands. A three-hour drive or 35-minute flight north of Auckland, it encompasses 144 islands between Cape Brett and the Purerua Peninsula. This tour visits Cook’s Cove, Stingray Bay, Urupukapuka Island and Motukokako.

Activity
Meet your guide at the activity base in Paihia for this guided jet ski tour to ‘Hole in the Rock’. A tour that travels along the Cape Brett coast, this 3 hour excursion explores the legacy left by Captain Cook and his maiden voyage to New Zealand aboard the infamous Endeavour. Run & operated by a Northland local, this ultimate jet ski tour travels to some of the most remote parts of the Bay of Islands, allowing you to experience the area with a knowledgeable guide. After a short safety briefing and demo, head out into the Kerikeri Inlet to Captain Cook’s first landing ground in the scenic Bay of Islands. See caves, tunnels, sparkling lagoons and beautiful beaches as you cut through the lagoon-like waters of Stingray Bay – watching out for dolphins as you thread the needle at the archipelago’s most easterly point. Travelling to Urupukapuka Island, leave the jetskis and snorkel in the shallows, returning to the beach for a picnic on the pristine private beach. Return to Paihia via the Cape Brett peninsular, tracing the contours of the coat back to Tapeka Point.

Conditions
This tour of Cook’s Cove follows a 3-hour itinerary on two-seater jet skis – passengers from 8 years old are permitted. A reasonable level of fitness is required, as some weather conditions can make handling more physically demanding.
