Explore the marvelous Marlborough Sounds with a professional guide aboard a safe kayak!
The Marlborough Sounds are located in the Cook Strait which lies between the North and South Islands, not far from the capital city Wellington. They offer some of the best outdoor settings in New Zealand, away from the crowds with beauty and wildlife in abundance.
If you have limited time in the area but would love to experience the brilliance that this spot has to offer, then these trips are for you. Let the professional and qualified guides of Sea Kayak Adventures show you what makes the Sounds such a special place!
You can choose from a half or a full day guided kayaking excursion.
The half-day trip is based in the Grove Arm of the Queen Charlotte Sound where you can expect to observe a variety of sea and forest birdlife and possible sightings of rays, seals, little blue penguins, dolphins and if you are very lucky – Orca! The excursion lasts approx. 4 hours.
The full-day trip lasts about 8hrs and allows you to explore more of the Sounds' secluded beaches and paddle beneath the pristine native bush. Your guide will find one of the many beautiful beaches to stop for a delicious homemade picnic lunch. Returning to Anakiwa he/she will always do his/her best to take you a different way home so you don't paddle the same coast twice.
