Activity description

Epic, enduro, backcounty, thrilling, brake burning, rough, fast, huge descents, challenging, real backcountry riding.

Heli-biking is the combination of a scenic helicopter flight to a remote destination followed by a mountain bike ride back. Fat Tyre Adventures offer some of the most scenic rides in New Zealand. Whether you're a novice or expert mountain biker, tourist or local, as long as you enjoy scenic mountain biking away from the crowds.

The high alpine heli-biking around Queenstown is amazing and with so many options to suit everyone’s riding wishes, from 1.5hr descents to most of the day missions.

Fat Tyre Heli Biking have 6 mountain ranges with 100s km and dozens of exclusive trails on private farms and Department of Conservation land, giving you plenty of choice and more quality riding away from the crowded trails close to town. These trails are not tracks that you can get to on your own.

Add a stunning Helicopter flight and it does not get much better! The trails vary from Enduro to intermediate to advanced Back country and Epic XC trails all Helicopter accessed. (We have a couple of 4x4 accessed trails)

Keep your New Zealand mountain biking adventure simple with door to track and back transport.

You can bring your own bike- or hire a GT Sensor. The helmets are top end Giro and Bell and 661 protection if required.

The heli-biking season is Mid October to late April.
