Suitable for groups of friends and families alike, this cultural attraction offers guests a chance to experience the captivating qualities of traditional craft from the luxury of a refurbished sailboat. Operating three tours (morning, afternoon, sunset), experience the beauty and thrill of a scenic journey to the infamous Maori rock carvings, visiting in the popular Te Kopua and Acacia Bays en route. A homage to ancestral heritage, the rock alcove at Mine Bay became the canvas for one of the most extraordinary contemporary artworks in New Zealand. Sculpted over the course of four years and completed in 1980, the spectacular carving of Ngātoroirangi on the rock face can only be experienced from the tide line, allowing you to appreciate the impact it has on the local landscape.
