A rite of passage for anyone travelling to Lysefjorden, only 4444 steps stand between you and the most beautiful views in Norway. Not for the faint-hearted, spend a day summiting this iconic Hydropower station overlooking the 40km fjord below - reaching the top for breathtaking views that stretch along the horizon.

Location
This activity is run & operated from Stavanger and travels to Lysefjord via ferry from Lauvvik to Flørli. Flørli is popular for its 4444 steps right up the mountain - the longest wooden stairway in the world.

Travelling from Lauvvik to Flørli - this tour starts with a 45-minute scenic cruise across the Lysefjord - stretching 40km to Pulpit Rock. On reaching the Flørli Hydroelectric Power Station, lace up your hiking boots for this challenging 741 m climb! Set to a casual pace, conquer the longest wooden staircase in the world and be rewarded with views over Lysefjord - catching your breath and marking the moment with pictures from the top! On your descent, follow the 100-year-old track that the “Rallar” used when they built the dam at Ternevatnet. Once back in Flørli, spend the time n the village, visiting the power station museum and cafe. 

Conditions
This trip comprises two main parts: 4444 wooden stairs for the ascent and a marked trail for the descent - it is only recommended for those of good physical fitness. Hiking boots are strongly encouraged, or trail running shoes, at the very least.
