Say hello to a bunch of barking huskies that are ready for action (but still very friendly). You'll drive the dog sled by yourself into the white landscapes, through the beautiful Vass Valley, an uninhabited forest landscape surrounded by majestic mountains.
Upon arrival at the wilderness camp, you'll receive outdoor clothes and shoes to keep you warm during your outing. You will be given instructions on how to drive a dog sled by an experienced musher.
You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each sled, with the opportunity to switch places half way. The trails you follow have a total distance of approximately 10-12 km, and you will be on the sled for about 1,5-2 hours.
At the end of the trail you will return to Camp Tamok. There you will be served a hot meal and fresh coffee in the dining lavvu (Sami herdsmen’s tent). After you've filled up with food and beverages, the bus will take you back to Tromsø city centre.
Not sure if you want to go during the day or in the evening? Daytime trips give you an amazing view of the untamed mountains in the area, whilst the evening trips will give you a good opportunity to experience the Northern Lights while driving the sled.
