Activity description

Unforgettable surf holidays in a place where you will feel at home!

Portugal On Water Surf Lodge is located at Quinta D'Anta Hotel, in Maiorca (Figueira da Foz), between Oporto (120 km) and Lisbon (196 km). It’s only ten minutes away from Cabedelo Beach, which usually is a less crowded spot and famous for its exceptional conditions to practice surf at all levels.

Built from an old farm, the property combines the tranquility of the countryside with the comfort of a modern hotel, which makes it the perfect choice for people (surfers and no-surfers) that love a welcoming place, choosing between a happy and fun socializing or just chill out. Here you may enjoy an extended set of activities where surfing is the main attraction.

Portugal On Water aims to be more than a surf camp after your stay with them you will be a part of their “family". The surf camp works seven days a week and arrival is accepted on any day. Depending on the waves conditions and on your surf level, every day they will try to combine lessons and free surf sessions that can go from one hour to two hours each, so you can learn and practice. Surf lessons based on the participant’s skills. They have three customized programs: beginner, intermediate and advanced. If you have surfed before and you are not sure which level you fit in they will make an evaluation of your surfing skills and they will adjust your program.

You will be always assisted by a qualified surf instructor that will pick you up every morning from your accommodation and take you to the best waves in the area. But don’t take it to stressful, we can do as you wish, we really want you to feel at home in a relaxed atmosphere. The team can speak Portuguese, Spanish, English, and French.

Location

The Surf Lodge is located in Figueira da Foz (Maiorca) one step from to Europe's best surf coast. The closest surf spots still hold their natural beauty, offering different wave options, point break, after point break, fast and hollow waves, both lefts and rights.

It's a great surf destination for long stays, for beginners that need time to learn and for more experienced surfers that want to surf and relax away from crowds. Also, it's very convenient for short stays when traveling along with Portugal, since it's between Lisbon and Porto and around one hour distance from other great surf breaks like Peniche or Espinho.

The most famous spot is Praia do Cabedelo, remarkable for its dunes and wild vegetation. It is a quiet and friendly beach with good facilities and an amazing view of the city. The surf break is close to a long pier which results in pretty consistent conditions working any time of the year.

If you’ve never surfed here, you've been missing out on a memorable holiday.

In the end you will be able to surf white water waves by yourself and you will have the first approach on surfing unbroken waves. The main goal of the program is to start surfing safe and have a great time.

Intermediate

At this stage, you will be able to catch green waves and ride the face of the wave on a regular basis. Besides learning more advanced surfing techniques you must understand the priority rules and the correct position in the line-up to surf unbroken waves. The main goal of the program is you becoming a better surfer and to have fun.
