CilaosAventure proposes some of the most beautiful canyons in Reunion Island!
Fleur Jaune is considered the pearl of the Reunion canyons, it unleashes a whirlwind of thrilling sensations through its abseils, waterslides and jumps. This canyon is ideal for beginners!
You will start the activity with a 10 minute walk littered with a few small jumps. You will then enter a magnificent gorge which gives way to four pools and waterslides between 12 to 20 metres long. Strategically situated, Fleur Jaune basks in sunlight all morning, offering a panoramic view of Cirque de Cilaos and Piton des Neiges. Continuing with a 55 metre abseil, though daunting, can be easily managed by sliding down on your back, facing outwards. You will then go on to two short abseils of 35 and 20 metres respectively. This will bring the morning’s activity to an end, leaving you to enjoy a picnic and allowing you to share your Fleur Jaune experience with the others.
Once the picnic is over, you will make your way out using small steep passage ways. These passages require the use of ropes and although not too tasking, you will have to use both your arms and legs to pull on the ropes. You will then reach a ridge that leads to a 55 metre abseil that will take you to the end of your trip (a mere 200 metres from the parked vehicles).
FYI: Fleur Jaune is technically easy and therefore can be enjoyed by everyone; however, you must be in reasonable physical condition and must not suffer from severe vertigo. This activity can be practiced all year round.
