Your sense of adventure hits high alert as soon as you approach the slopes of the volcano. The landscape becomes drier transforming into a rugged and arid environment on the Plaine des Sable.
You will enter the enclose using an off beaten path and steps, this path will directly take you to a place where you’ll be able to see lava falling in large patches or in weaved ropes. In this unfamiliar atmosphere, you will take a tour of ‘Leo’, an old crater brightly coloured in red and yellow hues. You will then walk towards the naturally formed chapel of Rosemont enabling you to discover the lava tunnels.
The summit offers a breath taking view of the ‘caldeira’, the Piton des Neiges and the wilderness of the south.
