Activity description

Come and try a 10-day trek with CilaosAventure.

Leave no stone unturned by exploring the canyons, cirques, volcanoes, craters and forests.

This guided trek will show you areas of Reunion Island that toursists never normally get to see, however, your local guide will share all his experience and knowledge by giving you in-depth explanation of the fauna, flora and natural landmarks.

Cancellation policy: 
strict1) Cancellation 30 days or more prior to the agreed activity starting date
→ You are automatically reimbursed the full activity price

2) Cancellation between 30 and 10 days prior to the agreed activity starting date
→ You are entitled to a 50% reimbursement

3) 10 days or later, prior to the agreed activity starting date, are considered last-minute cancellations
→ No reimbursements will be effected
Offer Description

Please be aware that accommodation for day 2, 13 and 14 is not included in the tariff and must be organised by the customer themslves. Guillaume is happy to recommend a hotel or B&B should you need his expert advice. 

Itinerary

Day 1: Metropolitan/Plane journey (night flight)

Day 2: Arrival at Reunion Island/transferred to cottage or hotel/activities on the west beach in the afternoon

Day 3: Channelling on Orange Island
You will walk between 6 – 7 hours over a distance of 18kms.
Positive difference in altitude: 400 metres
Negative difference in altitude: 100 metres

Day 4: Roche Island
You will walk between 5 – 6 hours over a distance of 10kms.
Positive difference in altitude: 200 metres and 400 metres
Negative difference in altitude: 200 metres

Day 5: Cilaos
You will walk between 7 – 8 hours over a distance of 15kms.
Positive difference in altitude: 200 metres, 100 metres, 600 metres
Negative difference in altitude: 200 metres and 800 metres
Plus there is a short bus trip

Day 6: Rest/short hike with the option of canyoning

Day 7: Cilaos - Kerveguen/Refuge of Piton des Neiges
You will walk between 4 – 5 hours over a distance of 8kms.
Positive difference in altitude: 200 metres 

Day 8: Summit of Piton des Neiges/Descent on Belouve
Summit:
You will walk between 3 – 4 hours over a distance of 7kms.
Positive difference in altitude: 700 metres
Negative difference in altitude: 700 metres
Belouve:
You will walk between 4 – 5 hours over a distance of 10kms.
Positive difference in altitude: 200 metres
Negative difference in altitude: 900 metres

Day 9: Forest of Belouve/Trou de Fer
Forest excursion:
You will walk between 3 – 4 hours over a distance of 9kms.
Positive difference in altitude: 200 metres
Negative difference in altitude: 200 metres
Belouve:
You will walk between 1.5 – 2 hours.
Negative difference in altitude: 600 metres

Day 10: Salazie

Day 11: Plaine des cafres – volcano
You will walk between 4 – 5 hours over a distance of 10kms.
Positive difference in altitude: 300 metres
Negative difference in altitude: 300 metres

Day 12: Volcano Guide west transfer
Summit:
You will walk between 4 – 5 hours over a distance of 10kms.
Positive difference in altitude: 600 metres, 250 metres
Negative difference in altitude: 250 metres 600 metres
Plus an additional 2 hours if you want to visit the craters.

Day 13: Free day

Day 14: Free day/transfer to St Denis/Metropolitan
